Just call me Ms. Skinny Pants today...

...because I did it!

I hit 40 lbs lost on my fourth (month) bandiversary! Actually, it was 40.2 lbs, and I am dammmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnn proud of that .2 lbs. Better yet, I am officially at my lowest so far - 334.2 lbs.

I'm in a much better mood than I was yesterday. Partly because of this - and why I let the scale dictate my moods, I'll never know. Partly because my friend is coming in from Chicago (she ended up not coming last weekend, because her grandpa died), partly because I have tomorrow off, so today is my Friday, and partly because I slept well last night.

Oh, and guess what? I took the kids for an hour walk last night! Go me!

So, about the move...

The owner is FINALLY heading down to FL April 14-18 to scout out locations and hopefully sign a contract. Since there are so many empty warehouses right now, I don't see this being an issue. They are looking for something within ~10 miles of the Orlando airport, which means that we'll probably live somewhere in the vicinity as well. It doesn't have to be right there, but it'd be silly for DH to commute too far, when we know exactly where he'll be working. I am guessing the owner will sign a July 1 lease, but that's really just a guess on my part. If that's the case, we'll probably be moving down middle-end of June, just in time for the real FL summer heat. Oh yeah!

Anyone familiar with the area? Shrinking Mommy - what are your thoughts?

  1. yay on 40!

i am about 2 1/2 hours out of the area. but i do like College Park. My mom actually grew up there and we went there a couple months ago to look around and have lunch. i think the architecture is very similiar to what you are used to. it is a small town in a big area. i think there are other areas like that there as well.

the florida heat can be bad. but the nights are great and everything is air conditioned so that mitigates it somewhat.

just will weigh less than 300 pounds when you move to florida!

  2. Congratulations Ms. Skinny Pants! I'm so happy for you!

  3. WOO HOO!!!! 40 lbs in 4 months, you are a rock star!!! Congratulations!

  4. Happy Dance!! Happy Dance!! Congrats on the 40 lbs.

  5. AWESOME!! We are all so proud of you. Congratulations and keep it up :)

  6. Wow, 40 in in 4 months, congrats! You are doing great! <3

  7. YAAAAY!!! 10 pounds a month equals wonderful!

  8. 40 lbs is awesome - congratulations!

  9. WAHOO on 40 pounds!! ::Doing a happy dance for you::: The Florida Summers can be brutal...but thank goodness for A/ will get used to them after awhile.

I lived about an hour away from Orlando for, well, 16 years of my life...There are some good places that are suburbs around Orlando that are not that expensive, have good schools (if you need em) and are close enough to stuff that you dont have to drive forever but can still get away from all the crazy-ness...

Check into the Apopka, Waterford Lakes, Avalon Park, Lake Nona, and Winter Park areas.

If you don't mind a commute of about an hour or a little more (depending on area and traffic)...try checking into Brevard County..Melbourne and Palm Bay (where I lived) are coming up pretty nicely...home prices are still low, schools are good, and it is coastal so you get the beach and the breezes to help with that summer heat...

Anything you need to know, or want to ask...send me an email:
