Argh.
I am up about 5 lbs from my lowest. I know I could just 'diet' but I am so over that. Hence the reason I got the band.
My last fill hasn't really provided restriction. I am having to watch how well I chew and how big of bites I take, but I can eat way more than I should and am not feeling any sense of fullness nor prolonged freedom from hunger.
I contacted my surgeon's coordinator about coming in sooner than 4 weeks, and they won't let me! She double-checked with the surgeon for me. I am seriously near tears. I know it's not the end of the world, but I am tired of fighting this fight without any weapons.
Sigh.
Don't cry!! I too have felt totally hopeless these past couple of weeks. Everytime I lose a pound it seems to just come back to visit the next day. You can do this - even if it means having to diet for a couple days to get your body going in the right direction. Boo to diets, but being a calorie nazi is the only thing keeping me sane these days...
ReplyDeleteHang in there!!
I'm so sorry, that's the worst. I really do understand what you mean - we got this band to stay away from dieting and have some support in controlling hunger. It's awful that you don't have the support yet. I don't know what to say, but don't be too hard on yourself. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteYou'll get through it. It is so disheartaning and discouraging. You even go through, why the heck did I get this band???? But, you will get through it. Once you have good restriction you will understand why you did it. I was banded on 9/29 and I have had 3 fills. I am at 7.0cc in my 10.0cc band and I still am not at the restriction level I want. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteOh Amy! This sucks! WHat I can tell you is that I have gained 5-7 pounds in ONE WEEK! I always lose it. I know you dont want to diet...but if you can't get a fill until 4 weeks from now you might have to. just a little?
ReplyDeleteI dont know! I wish I had something better to say
:(
So sorry ...your frustration shines through. Perhaps you don't have to diet but might try just making really great choices and going for an extra walk to burn off some cals. You could even try having a clear soup or something before meals to fill you up. I am sorry I can't offer anything better....maybe a good cry would help and then you can pick yourself up and get on with it. let us know how you go
ReplyDeleteBabes, the weapon will come!! Really it will. It can be majorly frustrating since you've gone through everything to get this far - but just remember - the band is not working at full capacity yet. But soon it will be - hang in there!!!
