Here.

I'm here. Thanks to everyone who checked up on me - Maria, Heidi, Angela...It's so nice knowing I am missed.

I talked to my gyn about my unhappiness/depression/issues, and she prescribed Zoloft. I have the prescription filled, but I haven't taken it yet. I'm just not sure I want to take any meds. Sigh. If I'm debating it this much, I should probably just take them, right? (ETA: It's not that I feel shame taking them - it's the side effects I'm concerned about - weight gain, jittery, insomnia, decreased sex drive, etc.)

Other than that, I am eating crappy and exercising even less. That changes this minute. I have a half-marathon to run in 4 months - I must get my butt in gear. I also have a one year bandiversary approaching, and I'd like to lose at least 130 lbs in the first year, if not more. I also know I'll feel better if I do both of those things. I also need to get a bit of a refill; it's just time and money holding me back.

On a fun note, DH & I just bought Disney passes (they started a monthly payment plan), and we took the kids to the Magic Kingdom for their first visit last weekend. I think we'll head back again this weekend.

Finally, anyone out there a resume expert? If so, would you be willing to help me? I think I have a strong resume, but it needs to be stronger.

I promise to start posting and commenting again. I missed you too much to stay away!

  3. I'd be happy to look at your resume. Email it to me at amandakiska@yahoo.com.

And start taking the Zoloft. There's no shame in it. You'll feel better and it will help you meet your goals.

  4. AMY! Glad to see a blog from you. You are dearly missed my friend. Like Amanda says, take the Zoloft - especially if it will make you feel better.
My BFF is a Resume Expert - if you want to send to me, I'll be glad to forward for you. You have my email.

  5. Welcome Zoloft sister. I think we need a club. It's been the topic of conversation over at my place too. I've been on it off and on for 8 yrs and it's been a good thing. I thought I was "cured", but obviously not so I will start it again soon. Don't worry about the side effects. I couldn't name one I had. Give it a month, your perception will change and if you're anything like me, it will help a ton. Now if only I could follow my own advice!! ;)

  6. I know it must be a big decision, but try it for a month or so and see if it helps. We've missed you!

  7. Take the Zoloft- you'll never know if the good outweighs the bad unless you try it.

As for the resume, I'll add my voice to the chorus and will be happy to take a look at it for you although I am sure you will be in very good hands with the offers above!

  8. wanted to offer to help with your resume - looks like you have lots of offers! Willing if you need it.... And I agree about the Zoloft. It's usually not about taking it forever - but taking it long enough for it to help you see more clearly how to help yourself in the long run. Keep hanging in there!!

  9. So glad you are back! We need to start holding each other accountable with this running thing if we don't want to be swept off the course in Disney. :)

  10. I agree with everyone - take the meds. I battled a bout of depression years ago and took meds, and it made me see everything more clearly. Turns out all I needed to do was leave the ass of a husband I'd married - and I've never looked back with any regret! Sounds like you've already got resume help, but you're welcome to shoot it to me at joiajones@gmail.com if you want me to look! Besides having resume help myself professionally this year, I coach high school students on job interview techniques. Good luck girl!

  11. I'm in the same boat as Joia, had a bout of depression, took the meds and realized I was married to a moron. Not that your husband is moron. But once I started the meds I was able to see things more clearly. Give them a try and remember that these types of meds need a few weeks for you to start seeing results. Good Luck! Tell Mickey hi for me!

  15. I love you Aims! We need to get together more often than the once a month support group... I miss ya! As for Zoloft... I am pretty sure I took it once but the thing that's been most helpful for me is therapy... Talk it out! I can be your therapist or you can get a more professional one. I will come to you, whenever I'm invited. As for the rest of it, separate your issues... don't look at your life in one big ball... take the pieces apart since everything is more scary in blob form. Little issues are easier to solve and move on. You are beautiful and amazing... but maybe a little overwhelmed dealing with 2 little ones all day. *M*

  17. Awwwww..... pumpkin :(

Zoloft could be a nice trip, dontcha think?

I too have issues, however, with anti-weepy pills. I took effexor for exactly 3 days after giving birth to the trio, because I felt so disconnected.

How about a doobie? A doobie might make you smile? Heck.... the WORD doobie makes me smile :)

    Hugs precious!

  19. Just remember, if zoloft doesn't work for you, there are other drugs you can take. I took zoloft, but didn't like the side effects so I was switched to wellbutrin. Good luck.
