Exhausted

Left the house at 9 am Friday and returned at 11:30 pm last night. Two flights, two toddlers, two car seats, a double stroller, six carry-ons, a 49.6 lb checked suitcase, arriving at the hotel at 4:45 pm and having to be at the rehearsal at 5 pm, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, time with friends, lunch with family, getting entire family ready, pictures before ceremony, ceremony, reception, one wandering toddler, one dancing fool toddler, no naps, sharing beds with toddlers, a Sunday brunch with family, rushing to the airport, and more. All in about 61 hours (if I am doing the math right).

I am exhausted.

On the band-front, I'm afraid to get on the scale. My unfill was a little too effective. I need a bit of a fill, but I'm going to give it a week to see how I do. Need to get back to the gym this week and get serious about my half-marathon training.

However, I also wanted to share some pics (I'll post some more of the kids after I've unpacked); the first is from my son's baptism 10.25.09, the second is from my daughter's second birthday 11.15.09, and the third is from this weekend, 10.01.10. About 10-11 months of changing. I realize I do comparison shots every so often, but I think 'real life' shots tell the story more clearly in a lot of ways. And I have to be honest, I have about 75 lbs to go, but the truth is, if I stayed here for the rest of my life, I wouldn't be disappointed. Not to say I am stopping, not by any stretch, but I am okay with where I am, if that makes any sense.

  1. your right, real life shots really put it in perspective. That is more closely to what you really look like, not standing in front of a white wall in spandex and sports bra (or how ever you do comparison shots!)You have come a long way, and look beautiful! I completely know what you mean about staying where you are. My goal is 150ish, but I would probably be happy at 170! Now, I hope you recover from such an exciting weekend!

  2. You look freaking amazing in this pic! I haven't noticed how blonde your hair has gotten, it looks fantastic on you! I think with the hair and weight loss you look 10 years younger, how exiciting! Keep it up, can't wait to see more pics of the wedding!

  5. Amy-- what great comparison shots, you look wonderful and healthy! I'm here to encourage you to KEEP GOING, because you can do this and your body will continue to agree to shed more weight along the way...
Remember: it's a marathon, not a sprint, so one cruddy weekend does not make a whole lifetime of eating. Get on track and keep going down the scale, you deserve to reach your alltime goal and you CAN DO IT!!!

  13. Makes perfect sense...I feel exactly like you in that I feel I've already lost the weight that pushed me over the edge of being miserable about my body. I too have no intention of stopping before I get to goal, however, if I had to spend the rest of my life at 188, that would be ok with me.

  19. 1) You look amazing, just like everyone else has said.

    2) I hear you on being fine with where you are now. This is a recurring theme in our support group. I feel exactly the same way and I think it's been affecting my pace of weight loss. I have lots of nice clothes, people compliment me, and I'd be happy if I stayed here.... :)
